We see you. The early days of parenthood are a beautiful whirlwind of love, exhaustion, and everything in between. And while the world showers you with care during pregnancy, once your little one arrives, it can feel like you're suddenly on your own.

At Root and Soil, we exist to be the steady hands of support in those unpredictable moments. The ones no book or checklist prepares you for. Because the truth is, it takes a village to raise a child. And we’re here to be that village for you.

From One Mom’s Search to a Global Village

I’m Priyadarshini Krishnan - a mamma, a certified Newborn Care Specialist, and the founder of Root and Soil.

Root and Soil was born out of my personal journey, in 2019, not just because we needed better baby care products, but because of the quiet reality of raising a child in today’s nuclear families. A space where many parents find themselves navigating the challenges alone, without the traditional support systems that were once common.

As a naturally birthed mother, I had always felt a deep connection to nature’s design. But when my daughter Paridhi was born, I, like so many modern parents, found myself without the village I had seen growing up.

❌ No elders around the corner, 

❌ No close community to guide me through the challenges,

❌ No one to lean on during the long, sleepless nights. 

Every concern, from her first rash to the countless cries. Felt like a puzzle I had to solve on my own.

Then, when Paridhi developed a stubborn rash on her cheeks, I tried every commercial product available on the shelf with no success. Exhausted and desperate, I reached out to my childhood friend Megala, a farmer with a deep connection to nature. She sent me a bottle of hand-extracted coconut oil from her farm, a simple, age-old remedy.

The result? The rash vanished overnight.

That one moment reminded me:

 ✔️ Our roots hold answers. Answers we’ve drifted from in the rush of modern living. 

 ✔️ I realized I didn’t need to have all the answers. I just needed the right tools, and maybe a little help from nature.

And so, The seeds of Root and Soil were planted. From one mother’s search for real safe solutions for her baby, to a growing global community that supports new parents through time-tested, solution-focused care.

Today, our village has reached over 3 lakh families across 12+ countries, with 35+ products serving our Root and Soil community. And it all started with one mamma, one bottle of coconut milk oil, and the belief that modern parenting doesn’t have to be lonely.
